On the Power of Yes

Sometimes I get a bad rap for being the disciplinarian in our house. I am the mama who makes waffles and sings songs… and also does a perfect back scratch. But, I am also the enforcer, the school marm and Kon-Mari confiscator of unused toys.

Daddy is the playful one. I read something a couple days ago that changed me deeply. When my kids ask “What are we doing today”, I want them to see in me excitement, optimism, magic and possibility. I believe in boundaries, but right now I am seeing in my life the walls that come down when I say “Yes”.
